Psychological drawings
Since the moment I started drawing with Neocolor, I felt the need to find a way of expressing and articularting the emotions that I was feeling in some situations. After some experimentation, I developed a sort of “grammar”, through which I can encode my emotions into a visual work. This “grammar” consists of the elements that are repeated across my psychological drawings and which allow their interpretation.
These elements are:
a boundary, which represents the skin and encloses the following elements
a head
a heart, enveloped in a form which stands for the consciousness of one’s own feelings
a pair of hands
a pair of feet
a belly
some small points, which represent further internal organs
By playing with the size, the number and the color of these elements, I am able to capture and express complex feelings.
